A unique project by Tretyakov Gallery: for the first time ever, Vatican museums are treating visistors to the best part of their collections – masterpieces of the 12─18th centuries, including the paintings of Giovanni Bellini, Melozzo da Forlì, Perugino, Raphael, Caravaggio, Guido Reni, Guercino and Nicolas Poussin. The exhibition, curated by Arkadi Ippolitov from the State Hermitage, will place 42 paintings in total on display. Vatican Museums included in the top 10 world collections have never before taken outside their walls such a significant number of prominent works belonging to the permanent exposition at the same time. This exposition is an important event not only for Russia and Europe, but for the whole world as well.
