The 12-meter high cylinder, composed of the assembly of 336 closely fitted LED panels, is mounted in the yard of the University of Milano. The walls of the cylindrical volume display changing images of towers, campanili and other vertical buildings. However, the surface of the tower not only broadcasts pre-programmed content, but also operates as an interactive canvas for self-expression of visitors – the installation allows visitors to design their own towers using sensor tablets placed on each side of the yard, and see their creations on the media façade right away. The installation reminds of the idea that the long-known effect of learning and communication through drawing is relevant today too.
